One of the best things about being a Northern Virginia photographer? Photographing gorgeous weddings in the heart of Loudoun County. No matter where you are in this neck of the woods, beauty is at just about every corner.
When Mai + Rene chose me to photograph their September wedding at the Stone Mansion in Potomac Falls - I couldn't wait to be a part of their day. September is my favorite month, and not just because its my birthday! That crisp but warm air, beautiful flowers and gorgeous sunsets - I could live forever in the month of September in Virginia and never grow tired of it.
But when Mai and I chatted, I LOVED her determination to have the wedding of her dreams - which included her mother (and a tribe of lovely ladies) cooking the most delicious traditional dinner. (When my husband saw the photos I took of the food, he was jealous he didn't get to try it!)
And friends, this lady knows how to create a gorgeous reception space. I couldn't believe all the fabulous details and thought she put into every.little.step of her wedding day. Mai impresses me with not only her DIY spirit, but the way she is able to pull everything together.
Though, I will be honest. Decor, dresses and delightful desserts aren't what inspire me to photograph weddings. It is that emotion that pours out of the day - and Mai + Rene's wedding - that cup was running over from all the emotion of friends and family that came to celebrate.
If I could bottle up every second of their wedding day, I would. (Luckily photography can help with that!) These two have the sweetness connection that just shines through whenever they are together. Can't you tell?
Mai + Renee - it was an honor, pleasure and a joy ride to be part of your wedding day. I can't wait to see what the future brings for the two of you! Here's a little reminder of your gorgeous wedding day!
A huge shout out and thank you to my dear friend and 2nd photographer for this wedding - Rebecca Sawyer. Me, Mai and Rene are so lucky she agreed to be a part of this day - I love how she finds the most interesting way to document all the moments. XOXO!
