I totally get it. If someone asked me to get up with my kids and be at a photo session at 8am or earlier, I might think they are crazy. I still kind of feel crazy suggesting it. But hearing the calm and quiet of the beginning of the day, the gorgeous morning light and the serenity that carries throughout the day -- its the reason I love morning sessions over evening sessions.
I want to preface all this by saying: I am NOT a morning person. My husband jokes the only reason I wake up to an alarm is when I have a photo session. I will happily wake up at 6am to get ready for a 7am session in DC. But any other time? I can sleep right through an alarm and be almost unwakeable. I am a certified night owl.
So when I suggest to your family meeting early for a photo session, know that I am not crazy or a gluten for punishment. I just love being outside in the early morning, taking in the beauty that just doesn't compare in the evening.
Luckily, this family completely agreed with me. And hands down, the ONLY time to go to the Jefferson Memorial for a photo session is early in the morning. I mean, when else can you get photos with NO ONE else there?
And by the way - this family is as sweet as they look. And charming too. I could spend all day chatting with them.
If you are in love with the morning but equally as afraid of it as I am - let's chat about how we can handle the morning alarm clock. (hint: mine is a nice big green iced tea). In the meantime, check out some of my family photos.
